FADMA and HKMDC Delegation Visits CDMIA | Jointly Promoting Cooperation in Asia’s Mould Industry

2026/10/08 16:09

On 24 September 2026, a delegation led by Mr. Felix Choi, Chairman of the Federation of Asian Die & Mould Associations (FADMA), and Mr. Patrick Ho, Chairman of the Hong Kong Mould & Die Council (HKMDC), visited the China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA) for a meeting held at the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group (CAM). Mr. Jiang Chao, President of CDMIA, Mr. Liu Xiaohu, Party Branch Secretary and Executive Vice President, and Ms. Zhang Shujie, Secretary-General, attended the meeting.

Before the meeting, President Jiang Chao invited the delegation to visit the CAM exhibition hall, where he introduced the Academy’s development history, key research achievements, and innovative breakthroughs in basic materials, major equipment and intelligent manufacturing. The delegation was deeply impressed by CAM’s research capabilities and innovations.

At the start of the meeting, President Jiang Chao delivered a welcoming address, extending a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that moulds, as a vital part of the machine-tool (“mother machine”) industry, bear an important mission in the intelligent and green transformation of manufacturing, and that CDMIA stands ready to strengthen standard alignment, technical exchanges and exhibition cooperation with FADMA and its member associations to jointly enhance the overall competitiveness of Asia’s mould industry.

Chairman Felix Choi then presented FADMA’s recent work. He said FADMA would stay committed to its vision of building “an Asia-based, globally aligned hub for die & mould industrial innovation and services” and, in line with its 2026–2029 strategy of “consolidating the foundation, expanding influence and entrenching achievements,” continue to deepen member services and expand industry influence, taking Asia’s mould industry cooperation to new heights. Chairman Patrick Ho and Vice Chairman Patrick To of HKMDC added an introduction to HKMDC’s history and recent work.

Mr. Liu Xiaohu, Executive Vice President, delivered a keynote speech. He first congratulated Chairman Choi on his election, noting that Asian moulds occupy a pivotal position in the global mould industry and that FADMA serves as an important platform for regional industrial exchange and cooperation. As a founding member of FADMA, CDMIA will continue to handle FADMA affairs diligently and fulfil its committee responsibilities, working with all member associations to deliver solid, concrete outcomes in Asia’s mould industry cooperation.

Mr. Liu said CDMIA supports FADMA’s plans to expand its influence and stands ready to take an active part in its activities. CDMIA will fully support the FADMA touring exhibition concept, linking upstream and downstream partners to showcase highlights in mould forming and jointly build a flagship pavilion. He added that CDMIA is willing to support the hosting of the 2027 FADMA working meeting, and plans to host the FADMA Annual General Meeting and the Asia Mould Industry Development Forum in 2030.

After the meeting, Chairman Felix Choi and his delegation paid a special visit to the CDMIA Secretariat for further in-depth discussion on FADMA standards work, specific arrangements for future cooperation, and member services and information sharing.

Both sides agreed to take this visit as an opportunity to continue deepening pragmatic cooperation and jointly promote the high-quality development of Asia’s mould industry.
